Downtown Stump Removals
Seven tree stump were removed over the past two weeks by Community Tree Service – one of the City’s five on-call tree care contractors. This photo shows grinding on San Carlos Street between Ocean and Seventh Avenues. Public Works Forestry crews will soon be planting new trees at these locations.
A new capital improvement project for downtown tree restoration is anticipated to be approved by the City Council in June. Using these capital funds, these tree wells at these locations will be upgraded with grid-like moldings filled in with stones and gravel that allow water to penetrate into the soil below.
